They served there for the next 10 years, during which time they were blessed with their three wonderful children (Grayson, Gavin, and Felicity).

In April of 2022, Tim accepted the call to pastor Victory Baptist Church here in Nixa, MO. The Russell family have fallen in love with the people of Nixa, MO, and would love any opportunity to help you and your family learn more about our loving Savior, Jesus Christ. They look forward to a long, Christ centered ministry at Victory Baptist Church.

Our Story

Seeking the Lord’s will and with much prayer, a small group of people met together in Nixa, Missouri on Sunday morning, January 24th, 1993 to have services. Thirty seven people were present at Happy Days Children’s Center to hear Bro. Clell Wieneke challenge us from God’s Word that morning, and services continued there until June of that year. Bro. Jim Cooper, a Baptist Bible College student from Florida was asked to lead the group as interim pastor until the church was organized. Bro. Cooper accepted this role on March 7, 1993. An organizational meeting was held on April 4, 1993 at South Campbell Avenue Baptist Church. Bro. Jim Cooper became the official pastor and the name “Victory Baptist Church” was decided upon.

The Lord provided a location for the church in an industrial building at 1375 W. Snyder Blvd. and the first service was held there on June 6, 1993. On June 29, 1995 the church reached a high attendance of 102 in Sunday school and 134 in the church services. In July of 1998, Bro. Cooper resigned as pastor and in September of that same year Bro. Ray Brinson was called as the new pastor.

In the fall of 1999, Victory Baptist Church purchased 10 acres of land and a house and in October of 2000 the church began construction on seven acres. The construction crew was made up of many church volunteers, along with Baptist Bible Fellowship Builders and New Testament Church Planters. In May of 2001 the 13,000 square foot church and educational building was completed.

On Sunday, May 20, 2001 Victory Baptist Church dedicated the new facilities to the cause of Christ for reaching souls in Nixa and around the world. In the fall of 2007 construction began on the present Family Life Center with over 15,000 sq.ft. of floor space.

In January of 2016, the church called Pastor Jonathan Krawczyk to serve as Co-Pastor alongside Pastor Ray Brinson. In 2018 Pastor Brinson retired from pastoral ministry, and Pastor Jonathan Krawczyk was installed as the Lead Pastor.  Jonathan Krawczyk resigned as pastor in October 2021.

We have been blessed with a rich history of faith in, and reliance on, God and we are committed to continuing on that path. Only God knows what lies ahead for Victory Baptist Church but we are glad to know that He holds the future!
